Production of new "Gestes Qui Sauvent Nos Enfants" films
Journalist Bonne Annee Matoumona, cameraman Anatole Mafoula, and soundman Adelaide Mboueya spent a week filming health projects around Dolise, east of Brazzaville, for our "Gestes Qui Sauvent Nos Enfants" film series, a collaboration with UNICEF/Congo. They filmed education sessions, interviewed health care workers, and spoke with mothers about how the information they are receiving is helping them raise healthier children.
The team will now continue filming in health centers and hospitals around Brazzaville.
The new filming focuses on eight new topics:
1. Prenatal consultation
2. Assisted and hygienic birthing
3. Vaccinations
4. Administering Vitamin A to infants and pregnant women
5. Deparasitation
6. Proper nutrition for children aged 6 to 24 months
7. Making water potable
8. Treatment of malaria
These topics, along with four existing INCEF/UNICEF films, will be edited to create 7 total films that will be used by INCEF educators, distributed by the Congolese government, and given to health NGOs, churches and other civil society groups.
